Shepherd, craftsman, visionary musician. Sicilian Alfio Antico, long considered one of the greatest interpreters of the tammorra, is an artist beyond any category: his technique has been studied by percussionists around the world, fascinated by his unique and profoundly instinctive approach.
Also known for his collaborations with Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio De André, Peppe Barra, and for his intense theatrical activity with Giorgio Albertazzi and Roberto De Simone, with ANIMA Alfio Antico brings to the stage a concert that is at once ritual, invocation, and poetry.
“Anima is a journey into my origins, into the sounds of nature, when we spoke with animals and humans, a sound was enough to understand each other,” he explains. Together with his musicians — double bass player Amedeo Ronga and Mattia Antico on guitar, mandolin, synthesizers and electronics — Alfio gives voice to a world that is both archaic and ultra-modern, where music is born from the earth, from silence, and from the breath of time.
