Young, talented, and all-female, the Hèrmes Piano Trio returns to the Unione Musicale with a program rich in contrasts, lyricism, and passion.
Trained under the guidance of the Trio di Parma and Pierpaolo Maurizzi at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma, the Trio went on to further their studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona, the MDW University in Vienna, and the European Chamber Music Academy as a guest ensemble.
The program features two chamber music masterpieces by the brothers Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn: Fanny’s rare and intense Trio, Op. 11, a compositional figure increasingly rediscovered today, and Felix’s celebrated Trio, Op. 66, with its brilliant, romantic writing, charged with energy and pathos.
