After the success of their recent debut in Turin for Unione Musicale’s season, the La Vaghezza ensemble returns—one of the most original and acclaimed groups on the new European Baroque scene.
Composed of five outstanding musicians from the international stage, La Vaghezza explores 17th-century Italian music with freedom and imagination, guided by a shared sensitivity and strong artistic cohesion. Their interpretations, historically informed yet always fresh and vibrant, stem from an ongoing search for the deeper meaning of Baroque vaghezza—that mysterious, elusive beauty, “like smoke, which begs to be touched while remaining intangible.”
Winners of all three prizes at the prestigious Göttingen Händel Competition and the first prize at the Maurizio Pratola International Competition, the ensemble has performed at major early music festivals across Europe (Utrecht, Bruges, Innsbruck, Ambronay, Cremona, Lyon…) and has released the album Sculpting the Fabric.
At Teatro Vittoria in Turin they present a visionary journey through works by Negri, Merula, Turini, Bertali, and original pieces by ensemble members—including Crosetto, Geremia, Kadish, and Ramal—in a surprising dialogue between past and present.
