One of the most anticipated evenings of the 2024-2025 season of the Unione Musicale is undoubtedly the return of Maxim Vengerov, one of the most extraordinary violinists active on the international scene today, considered among the greatest violinists of all time.
Born in 1974, Vengerov began playing the violin at the age of 4 and by the ages of 10 and 15 had already won prestigious international competitions such as the “Wieniawski” and “Carl Flesch” and had made his first recordings. Always in search of new means of expression, Vengerov later studied orchestral conducting and, in recent years, has also performed on the podium of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berliner Philharmoniker, New York Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Of him, it is said: “Vengerov plays with such innate ease that the difficulty of the pieces performed truly doesn’t register as such. His prodigious technique is accompanied by a great deal of heart. A child prodigy who gave her first concert at the age of 6, Polina Osetinskaya possesses a prodigious technique and is acclaimed worldwide for her eclecticism and interpretative skills.
